Make Jazz Not War Jazz, by its nature, speaks to two major issues in the American character – individual freedom and responsibility and collective action for the collective good. Jazz comes from the African-American experience and is steeped in the struggle for civil rights and so is particularly suited for this work.Make Jazz Not War is a call to take responsibility for our world, rather than blindly following those who start wars for their own reasons. It is a call to work together for common goals. It is a call to put positive human values ahead of profit and power, ahead of anger and revenge, ahead of the regimentation and dehumanization that war requires. Make Jazz Not War |
