Progressive values are moral values.

They are real moral values. We cherish them and we live them, unlike some who wrap themselves in the flag or the bible – but are only paying lip service. Feeding the hungry is a moral value. Housing the homeless, caring for the sick and disabled, providing education for our children, respecting diversity, equal opportunity, protecting our environment – these are all moral values. Honesty and fairness are moral values that seem to be in short supply among many in elected positions and leading our corporations. Making lots of money is not a moral value. Excluding people who are different is not a moral value. Exercising power is not a moral value. We honor our parents through the social contract of Social Security, not by making lots of money for Wall Street through private accounts that might make more money for a few retirees at the expense of the many.
